School Reopening 8th March 2021

Monday 1st March 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

RE: School Reopening

I hope that you are all safe and well.  I am delighted to announce that Comber Grove Primary School will now be fully open to all pupils from and including Monday 8th March 2021.

The pupils will be taught in bubbles as they were before Christmas and the times of the day will remain staggered.  The timings for the bubbles are as follows:

Year Group

Start Time

Finish Time

Key Stage 1

Reception and Year 1

Key Stage 1

Year 2

Key Stage 1

Year 3

Key Stage 2

Year 4

Key Stage 2

Years 5 and 6

Key Stage 2

Below are some points to note about school opening:

  • Parents must wear a mask at pick up and drop off
  • Parents must be prompt to the timings of the day to stop bubbles mixing
  • All break and lunchtimes will be in bubbles only
  • Pupils will eat lunch in classrooms using carefully prepared individual boxes
  • Classrooms will be ventilated with doors kept open
  • Pupils wear uniform as normal
  • Children of primary age do not need to weak masks
  • Staff will socially distance from each other
  • Staff will socially distance from pupils where possible
  • Assemblies will remain online

If you have more than one child at school, please drop off your children at the time of the earliest start and pick up at the latest time.  We will keep the other child safe until that time because we have created a sibling waiting area with activities in the Key Stage 2 Playground.

We would to hear what you thought about our Remote Education, so look out for a questionnaire coming your way.  We will still use Class Dojo for home learning so we would appreciate your feedback to help improve it.

We have some sad news in that we will no longer offer a breakfast club on the school site.   This is due to lack of take up.

Comber Grove School thanks Blanka Tighremt and Nicola Marlow

for their outstanding service feeding your children and

doing it with a smile every workday.  Thank You!

We will be strengthening our relationship with ‘CASP’, the Camberwell AfterSchool Project who offer an After School Service.

You can find out more about the service here:

We look forward to welcoming back the children on Monday.  This has been such a difficult time and we are relieved to be getting back to normality.

Have a good week and we will see you on Monday 8th March 2021!

Best Wishes,

S Bowmer
