Our PSHE and RSE Curriculum

Our PSHE and RSE Curriculum

At Comber Grove, we know that PSHE education supports children to achieve their potential by supporting their wellbeing and tackling issues that can affect their ability to learn, such as anxiety and unhealthy relationships. PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic education.

In this subject, children develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy, safe and prepared for life and work. It has a huge impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils.

RSE stands for Relationships and Sex Education.

We teach this both in weekly stand alone lessons, but it is also threaded throughout our Global Citizenship Curriculum.

At Comber Grove, we deliver these subjects using a mindful approach called Jigsaw. These lessons are well-structured, progressive lessons and they prepare children for life, helping them really know and value who they are and understand how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world.
