SMSC and British Values

What is SMSC?

 

SMSC stands for Spritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development. SMSC permeates our curriculum, approaches to teaching and learning and enrichment activities through the whole school vision. You can read all about how we promote SMSC in our weekly newsletter and also the SMSC reports at the bottom of this page.

 

Through SMSC we intend to:

 

  • raise aspirations
  • develop empathy
  • deepen spirituality
  • connect young people with their community
  • create opportunities for pupils to learn and practise human virtues
  • instill values such as compassion, hope, faith and forgiveness
  • develop values that challenge individuals beyond the material world.
