The Comber Grove Primary School curriculum is deeply rooted in Global Citizenship. We teach children to think critically about world issues and develop their voice. Each half term has a whole school focus:
Power and Governance
Social Justice and Equality
Identity and Diversity
Peace and Conflict
We deliver this global curriculum through of: the National Curriculum core and foundation subjects, Religious Education, PSHE, and a rich enrichment programme for each year group including theatre and drama classes with The Blue Elephant Theatre, dance and fitness sessions with our PE coach and opportunities to create and perform music at a top level with our resident musician. We provide opportunities to collaborate with our local community on projects and plan regular visits to inspire and hook children into their learning.
In Year 4, children take the Multiplication Check which is to determine whether pupils can recall their times tables fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It will help schools to identify pupils who have not yet mastered their times tables, so that additional support can be provided.
It is essential that children in Year 4 practice times tables using Times Tables Rockstars. Speak to your class teacher to get your login details if you haven't got them already.
